Former Indian captain and coach Anil Kumble is celebrating his 49th birthday. The Cricket fraternity who has great respect for the former legendary leg-spinner poured in wishes on the social media platform, Twitter. Kumble is regarded as not only India’s best spinner but also the best spinner in the world.

The leg-spinner from Karnataka had scalped 619 wickets in his Test career of 132 matches. Thus, Kumble is the third-highest wicket-taker behind Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. The leg-spinner is also only the second bowler to take a 10-wickets haul in a Test inning.
Kumble was always accurate.
Kumble was always right on the money with his line and length and borne fruits for the same. Moreover, Kumble had a decent ODI career as he went to snare 337 wickets in 271 matches. Kumble also featured in 42 IPL matches in which he took 45 wickets.
In fact, most of Kumble’s dismissal came through leg before wicket or bowled. He was not a big turner of the ball and his accuracy was his biggest strength. Furthermore, Kumble has a sharp cricketing brain and he was always instrumental in the success of the team.
On the other hand, Anil Kumble also led the Indian team with aplomb. However, his coaching stint with the Indian team ended on a controversial note after the conclusion of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
Meanwhile, Anil Kumble will serve as the head coach of the Kings XI Punjab in the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Punjab is yet to savour success in the history of the tournament and Kumble will like to turn the tables.

Kumble has the experience of mentoring sides like Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Ergo, Kumble will like to use all his experience to take Kings XI Punjab to glory in IPL 2020.
