Dean Jones, 59, Passes Away In Mumbai; Virat Kohli And Other Cricketers Express Condolences To His Family

Dean Jones, former Australian cricketer and the famous cricket commentator passed away, on Thursday, in Mumbai after suffering from cardiac arrest. He was just 59 and was in Mumbai to do the job for broadcast giant Star Sports.
Dean Jones, with the name of ‘Prof Deano‘, was a highly active social media user and kept his openly about cricket on all the platforms. He had played 52 Test matches scoring 3,631 runs at an average of 46.55. The batsman also had eleven Test centuries to his name.
Apart from Tests, Jones also played 164 ODIs and scored 6068 runs at an average of 44.61, including seven centuries and 46 fifties.
Star Sports had signed him up to do an off-tube commentary of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 being played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Star India, in their official statement, stated that Dean Jones died of a sudden cardiac arrest.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest. We express our deep condolences to his family and stand ready to support them in this difficult time. We are in touch with the Australian High Commission to make the necessary arrangements,” Star India said in their official statement.
