Dinesh Chandimal, Akila Dananjaya Will Not Be Part Of Sri Lanka’s ICC World Cup 2019 Squad
Well, in one of those shocking news from Sri Lanka, it is learnt that few of their high-profile players will not be part of the ICC World Cup 2019. The likes of Niroshan Dickwella, Dinesh Chandimal and Akila Dananjaya were few among the many others in that chart, who will be away from the squad.
Sri Lanka has been suffering for a long time in every format of the game, as they are failing to get the team combination right. They have tried many youngsters and those faded away seniors to get the team right for the upcoming showpiece event.
But, unfortunately, nothing went in favour of the team. Now, in one of those surprising exclusions, they left out the top-class players, who got finest records in the cricket books. The omission of Akila Dananjaya and Dinesh Chandimal are the big calls, as they were their finest players.
Niroshan Dikwella, Dinesh Chandimal, Danushka Gunatilake, Upul Tharanga and Akila Dhananjaya are the five players, whose names came out from the chart that will be excluded for ICC World Cup 2019.
Sadeera Samarawickrama could get the nod:
Niroshan Dickwella was given numerous chances to prove his mettle for the team but, unfortunately, he always failed to showcase his skills. He had a stellar ride in the international cricket in the initial phase of his career but soon, he lost the grip. Perhaps, Sadeera Samarawickrama could get the slot.
Akila Dananjaya has been their star performer for the past couple of years. It is surprising to see Sri Lanka chose to leave him rather than backing him for the upcoming event. In between, Gunathilaka has been the flop story of the year for Sri Lanka.

However, the senior Upul Tharanga has been with the team for quite a few years now, but, the numbers, which he bagged demands his omission from the side. In meantime, the selection of Dinesh Chandimal has always been a controversial one. All in all, it would be interesting to see how Sri Lanka copes up with young talents in such a prestigious tournament.
