The Delhi lad Unmukt Chand will now play for Uttarakhand. He is a former India U-19 and Delhi captain who represented the Delhi team for nine seasons. Under his captaincy, India won their third U19 World Cup in 2012 in Australia. The right-hand batsman generally plays as an opener. He first made his debut for Delhi in Feb 2010 through the List A game.

India U-19 led by him has won many games because of his effort. When Gautam Gambhir was busy on national duty in 2016, Chand led the Delhi team in Ranji Trophy. But in the 2017-2018 season, Unmukt Chand was dropped from the playing XI because of his decreasing performance.

Due to his good international performances in his early cricket career, he was given place in IPL. He made his debut for Delhi Daredevils (DD) in 2011 but didn’t show impressive performance. In 2015, he was given place in Mumbai Indians (MI) but there also he gave poor performance. Since 2017, he is out of IPL auction.
He last played for Delhi in last March in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and just scored four runs. when the team needed him the most he was out.
Unmukt Chand thanked DDCA
Chand thanked DDCA for giving him the opportunity and pined it is difficult for him to say goodbye to his state.
“I am writing this to thank each and everyone at DDCA for all the supports, all this while. It is definitely difficult for me to say goodbye to the place which was nurtured me into what I am today,” The player posted on Twitter.
Unmukt Chand is the first professional player to join the Uttarakhand team this year. Last year, Rajat Bhatia, Vineet Saxena and Malolan Rangarajan were three professionals to join the team. The Uttarakhand cricket team started playing Domestic in 2018. Karun Kaushal and Sunny Ranna are the two effective players in the team.
