The 36-year-old West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo created history on Wednesday (26th August) as he became the first bowler to claim 500 wickets in T20 career.
The right-arm medium pacer Dwayne Bravo created this history during the 13th game of the CPL 2020 between his team Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks at Queen’s Park Oval (Port of Spain). In the first innings of the match, Bravo completed his 500th T20 wicket after picking up his first wicket of the match by dismissing the Zouks opener Rahkeem Cornwall (18). On his fourth ball of the match (4th over of the innings), Bravo took that special wicket after Colin Munro successfully took the low and difficult catch.
It was also his 100th wicket in CPL career. With that wicket, Bravo became the first bowler in CPL history to claim 100 wickets.
Dwayne Bravo was also the first bowler to claim 300 and 400 T20 wickets
It was the 459th T20 match for Bravo. Before this match, he was one wicket away from 500 T20 wickets and he achieved this remarkable feat after claiming the first wicket in this match. Earlier, Bravo was also the first player to complete 300 and 400 T20 wickets in April 2016 (during IPL 2016) and December 2017 (during Big Bash League 2017/18) respectively.

Coming back to this T20 match, Dwayne Bravo got another wicket as he bowled Roston Chase (7) cheaply in his next over. He finished the game with the incredible bowling figures of 3-0-7-2. At the end of his 459th T20 match, Bravo has taken 501 T20 wickets. While his team Trinbago Knight Riders won that rain-curtailed match by six wickets (DLS method), Bravo won the Player of the Match award for his impressive bowling performance.
