England pacer Chris Woakes believes that Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler in the world at the moment, given his ability to bowl across all three formats of the game. The 29-year-old made an impressive comeback to the team after a long-standing injury and could be crucial for the team’s chances in the World Cup.

Bumrah has been the best answer to India’s search for a fast bowler who can perform across all formats. The Indian team uses him as a trump card and throws him the ball whenever he needs a wicket and the pacer has repaid the faith of the team management by providing some memorable performances for the team over the years.

Speaking to Wisden, Chris Woakes has picked Jasprit Bumrah as the number-one bowler in the world across all formats and highlighted his unique bowling action along with his searing pace, crushing yorkers and slower balls which makes him quite lethal in any format of the game.

“Jasprit Bumrah is the number one I think, probably across all formats. He is pretty sensational with what he does and he is unique, right? His action is different from anyone else and he has got a high pace, a gun slower ball, and a yorker on top. Everything you need as a white ball bowler,” Woakes maintained.

His nippy bowling and queer bowling action make the job difficult for the batters. Bumrah can quickly alter his plans in response to changing situations and circumstances. The right-arm pacer is the perfect new-ball and old-ball bowler and can operate in the middle overs if the team requires a wicket in the crucial moments of the game.

Jasprit Bumrah has made a remarkable comeback after an injury layoff. The right-arm was sidelined due to a stress fracture and missed almost a year of cricketing action for India before making a comeback through the Ireland series and was highly impressive for the team in the Asia Cup 2023.

The right-arm pacer has been India’s best bowler across all three formats since his debut for the Men in Blue in International cricket. The speedster’s availability will be crucial for the Indian Team in the ODI World Cup 2023, as the team will be desperate to lay their hands on the ICC trophy after 10 long years.
