England claimed an easy win in their final group match against Zimbabwe in the Group C encounter.
England U19 elected to bat first at Chittagong after winning the toss. Openers made a good start as they made 91 runs partnership. Both the openers completed their half-centuries. No.3 batsman Jack Burnham scored an unbeaten century and took the team’s total into 288 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the 50 overs.
Chasing down 289 runs, except Jeremy Ives, no other Zimbabwean batsmen put a fight against English bowlers. Zimbabwean colts bundled up for just 159 runs in 43.4 overs. Ives scored 91 runs in that innings while extras were the second highest for the team total. English pacer Saqib Mahmood took 4 wickets in that innings. England U19 won the match by 129 runs.
Burnham was awarded player of the match. England won all the three matches in their group and topped the group. On the other hand, Zimbabwe are in a must win game against West Indies to reach in the quarter-final.
