Former England skipper Michael Vaughan hailed Indian all-rounder Ravindra for his all-round show. Jadeja who is playing his first match of the England tour didn’t show any rustiness as he hit the ground running. The Indian all-rounder scalped four wickets in the first innings. In fact, Jadeja’s best came with the bat as he scored an unbeaten 86 to keep India in the game.
It was a fine effort from Ravindra Jadeja as he was short of match practice. He was able to put together an alliance of 74 runs with debutant Hanuma Vihari. After the dismissal of Vihari, Jadeja decided to change gears and scored invaluable runs for the Indian team to get them close to England’s total of 332.
A fine performance from Ravindra Jadeja
“Jadeja is a good character. He’s got loads of energy, he’s good fun and he’s a terrific cricketer. You know what he’s going to deliver with the ball – and he played very cleverly with the bat,” Michael Vaughan told the BBC.

On the other hand, Michael Vaughan wasn’t impressed with England opener Keaton Jennings. The southpaw batsman didn’t have the best of series as he scored only 163 runs at an average of 18.11. Thus, the left-hander failed to give a solid platform to the hosts.
“Keaton is a concern. Is Keaton good enough? Is he getting picked by default because Alastair Cook is retiring? He will be under so much pressure in Sri Lanka,” Vaughan said.
“Is it worth the risk of playing somebody with baggage? Or should they pick two fresh minds? Only those inside the dressing room know if Jennings has got something. I look at his game and he’s struggling,” he added.
Meanwhile, it was great to note Ravindra Jadeja impressing in his first outing on England tour. The southpaw batsman dusted off his bat after reaching his fifty to give a strong message to the team management for benching him for the first four Test matches.
However, India once again has their backs against the wall as England currently leads by 154 runs with eight wickets in hand.
