Virat Kohli is the most successful Test captain of the Indian team. Under his captaincy, India has played 49 Test matches and won 29 Test matches. Currently, he is leading the team in the 50th Test match.

Virat is a capable captain as the number says. Under his captaincy, the team has won more Test matches than MS Dhoni or other Indian captains. In the last Test match played at Visakhapatnam against South Africa, the team registered the victory by 203 runs. The team combination proved successful against the Proteas.

Virat Kohli has a mindset of winning Test matches either at home or overseas – Gautam Gambhir

India is currently playing the second Test match of this series, the playing XI selected by the skipper has five bowlers. Gautam Gambhir praises Virat Kohli’s winning strategy. He detects that captains like Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly have defensive batsman but Virat wants to win every match.

“I support Virat’s decision of 5 bowlers. Look I’ve played a lot under MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly but all had that defensive mindset to draw test matches instead of winning. Virat has a mindset of winning Test matches either at home or overseas!” Gambhir said.

Virat has also registered one more century in the tally. In the first innings of the second Test match, he has scored a double century against South Africa. He has become the first Indian to smash 40 international hundreds as captain. The 30-year-old has now hit 26 Test hundreds and 69 international centuries.

India, after winning the first Test match, has added 40 points in the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21. Virat Kohli-led team is the No.1 Test team and has maintained its top position on the top of the points table of WTC.
