Indian National Cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya has appeared for deposition before Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ombudsman DK Jain for his sexists remarks on a chat show. Meanwhile, Pandya along with KL Rahul appeared on a talk show named Koffee With Karan hosted by popular Bollywood director Karan Johar. Their comments on the show didn’t go down well with the whole of Indian as they came down heavily on the Indian cricketers. Meanwhile, KL Rahul will be doing the same ahead of the IPL game between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab here on Wednesday.
Pandya deposes while Rahul to appear tomorrow
Previously, BCCI ombudsman (Retd) DK Jain has issued notices to Indian National Cricket team players Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. In the wake of the controversy, BCCI suspended Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for their sexists and misogynistic remarks on a popular chat show. The players had to return to the country during the ODI series against Australia earlier this year in January. BCCI, likely after a month, decided to revoke the suspension from Rahul and Pandya. While Pandya joined the Indian team in New Zealand, selectors asked Rahul to join the India A squad which were playing against England Lions.

A BCCI official revealed that Hardik Pandya met with the Ombudsman at the team hote of the Mumbai Indians franchise. On the other hand, KL Rahul, who features for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League will depose on April 10 (Wednesday).
“Hardik met Ombudsman at the Mumbai Indians team hotel while Rahul will depose tomorrow,” a BCCI official told PTI.
Recalling on the controversy, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have admitted that it has been the toughest period in their career. However, they have come out stronger and will look to concentrate more on their game. Both of them have been in good form for their respective franchises and looks to carry on the good work throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya will be an integral part of the Indian National Cricket team in the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales. The men in blues will begin their campaign on June 5 against South Africa at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground.
