On Thursday (24th October), the International Cricket Council has revealed the full fixture of ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020. South Africa will host this tournament from 17th January to 9th February 2020.
The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020 will be the 13th edition of Youth Cricket World Cup. South Africa will host this tournament for the second time while they hosted it for the first time in the second edition (1998) that England won the tournament after beating New Zealand in the final.
A total of 16 teams will participate in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020, including the hosts South Africa. Apart from the top 11 ICC Full Members (only Ireland failed to manage direct qualify among the Full Members), five more teams have qualified for the tournament by winning the regional qualification tournaments. The five qualified teams Nigeria (Africa Division 1), Canada (Americas Division 1), UAE (Asia Division 1), Japan (EAP Division 1) and Scotland (Europe Division 1).
Nigeria and Japan will appear in the tournament for the first time. Meanwhile, the record four-time winners India U19 will play this tournament as the defending champions. The tournament will run in eight different venues among the four cities.

Group Stages
New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Japan are in the Group A along with the defending champions India. The four Group B teams are Australia, England, West Indies and Nigeria.
Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Scotland have been seeded in Group C. The remaining four teams are in Group D – Afghanistan, South Africa, UAE and Canada.

The Group Stage will run from 17th January to 25th January 2020. South Africa vs Afghanistan match will be the tournament opener.
The defending champions India will start their tournament journey on 19th January 2020 when they will face the Sri Lankan lads. Then, they will play against Japan and New Zealand on 21st January and 24th January respectively.

Plate League and Super League
The Super League quarter-finals will run from 28th to 31st January. On the other hand, the Plate quarter-finals will be played on 27 and 28 January.
The Plate playoff semi-finals will be played on 30th January while Plate semi-finals dates are 30th and 31st January.
In the meantime, the Super League playoff semi-finals dates are 1st and 2nd February while Super League semi-finals dates are 4th and 6th February.
The place playoff matches will run between 1st February and 8th February 2020. On the other hand, the top two sides will play the final of the tournament on 9th February 2020 at JB Marks Oval (Potchefstroom).
