ICC WT20 2016, Afghanistan vs England: Afghanistan predicted XI
Mar 22, 2016 at 2:42 PM
Despite suffering defeats in their first two Super-10 stage matches, Afghanistan came up with great performances on the field on both occasions. They might have lost those matches but won everybody’s hearts through their on-field performance.
Afghanistan qualified in the Super 10 stage, after winning all the three matches in the Group B in the first round of the WT20 2016. After that, Afghanistan team lost their first two games at the Super 10 stage of WT20 2016 against Sri Lanka and South Africa respectively. But the team showed impressive performances and made tough for the big opponents to win those matches.
Afghanistan will now meet against England on Wednesday at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. The next two remaining games are going to be must-win games for the Asian team.
The team’s batting line-up is in great form. Their bowling can be better than present while their fielding needs improvement. In the fielding, Afghanistan is far behind the international standard. But the main problem of Afghanistan in this tournament is the lack of experience in international cricket.
The team won’t be changed much. Afghanistan has met England only once in T20I before WT20 2016 and that was in WT20 2012. Afghanistan back then suffered a huge defeat by 116 runs as their batting collapsed for just 80 runs. However, Afghanistan team has changed a lot of and is currently looking better than before.
Afghanistan probable XI: Asghar Stanikzai (c), Noor Ali Zadran, Mohammad Shahzad, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Samiullah Shenwari, Najibullah Zadran, Rashid Khan, Amir Hamza, Dawlat Zadran, Shapoor Zadran.
