Imran Tahir: It’s A Pleasure To Play With MS Dhoni And Be In His Company
Imran Tahir has been playing under MS Dhoni at CSK since 2018 in the Indian Premier League and wishes to continue playing for CSK in the near future as well. From 2014 to 2016, he was playing for Delhi.
“It is always a pleasure to play with that guy (MS Dhoni). Have been playing with him for the last three years. For me, he is a great, great human being. He understands everybody, respects everybody. We love him. He is the guy who has got the knowledge, and is the best in the world. You don’t have to say anything to him. He knows what field he needs to set for us, and we just need to come and bowl,” Imran Tahir told Sportskeeda.
“It is a pleasure to be in his company. (One can) learn a lot of things. And that’s what you want as a cricketer. I’ll always have him in my team. I wish that I just keep going and play for CSK. I am really enjoying my cricket.”
Imran Tahir was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the 2018 IPL auction. Leg-spinner Imran Tahir had finished as the highest wicket-taker in the 2019 IPL. He has so far picked 33 wickets in 26 matches for CSK in the IPL.
Imran Tahir Is Hoping To Have A Good Season Again In IPL 2021
CSK were knocked out and didn’t qualify for playoffs for the first time in their history last year at UAE but Imran Tahir, who has been retained by the franchise, is hoping that they can turn their fortunes around in the 2021 IPL season. Imran Tahir played only 3 games in IPL 2020 and picked a solitary wicket.
“We have been calm as ever. Obviously, we were sad and disappointed because we weren’t winning. But, that’s not always (possible). I think the team culture is more important. Everyone understood what was happening.”
“We are hoping for a very good season again. And, we are going to work harder and come back with better planning. Hopefully, we will do very well this year for CSK. As a player, the franchise looked after us so well. We want to give our 500 percent for them,” Tahir stated.
Tahir, who is playing in IPL since 2014 has 80 wickets in 58 games averaging 21.08. He picked 26 wickets in IPL 2019 playing 17 games averaging 16.57 and won a purple cap for being highest wicket taker.
