IND VS AUS: They Are The Ones Causing Problems- Glenn McGrath Points Out The Reason For Australia’s Destructive Campaign In BGT

IND VS AUS: Australia is trailing by 0-2 in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against India. Pat Cummins will be not available for the third test match due to his mother’s illness, Mitchell Starc is expected to replace him.
Glenn McGrath felt that the Indian lower-order contribution from bat has been the real reason for the Baggy Greens’ loss in both the test matches.

Former Australian pacer thinks that visitors rely too much on Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne-
“I think they’re relying too much on Smith and Marnus at the moment. Travis Head has had a really good year as well. The whole batting line-up has to stand up,”
“I think they haven’t settled on a game plan on how to play spin in India that they are confident with and can execute. In the first Test, they were too defensive, and in the second Test, they were too aggressive. So we will see if they’ve learned from those two matches,” said McGrath.
Axar Patel departs after a fantastic knock of 74 off 115 deliveries 💪🫡

So far in the series, Labuschagne is the third overall and highest run-getter for his side with 119 runs in four innings, the no.1 ranked batter in test matches has played 35 matches for Aussies in the longer format and has scored runs with an average of 57.4. While former Aussie skipper Smith is the joint record holder for most tons in BGT along with Sachin Tendulkar’s nine century.
“They haven’t been able to come and clean up the tail. The last three batters have put on 160-plus. They are the ones causing problems,”
“Whether they got the bowling changes right? Maybe Pat Cummins could have come in earlier. Australia has a long way to turn things around. If they leave the shores with the scoreline not being 4-0, I think they would have done well,” said the right-arm pacer.
Axar Patel has performed well with the bat in both test matches with his 84 in the Nagpur test and 74 runs in Delhi match. He is now in the second spot after Rohit Sharma in the highest run-getter list in the series with 158 runs in two innings.
Team India will now be looking to win the third test match of four test match series to secure their place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Rohit Sharma-led side will take on Australia for the next test match at Indore on March 1st.
