The former skipper of India Sourav Ganguly quoted that the Indian team is the firm favourites to win the bilateral series against South Africa in Test format of the game. Ganguly strongly believes that it is very tough to beat the Indian National Cricket Team in Indian conditions, especially, in Test format.
Ganguly went on to add that he doesn’t want to think ahead of his time and wishes Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri can achieve more success in the immediate future. Sourav Ganguly wants to wait for his time and then throw his hat in the mix to coach the team.

The 47-year-old is currently the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president. And also, he is associated with IPL franchise Delhi Capitals as the Team Advisor. He also does cricket commentary and is the host of a popular Bengali quiz show. Naming all of them, Ganguly wants to take time before throwing his hat for head coach role.

Speaking about the MS Dhoni-debate, Ganguly said that the decision should be left to the two people who matter the most – Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. “I don’t know what the selectors think, what Virat thinks. They are the important persons, let them make the decision,” Ganguly said.

Sourav Ganguly concluded the interview saying that the Indian team is a firm favourite to win the upcoming Test series against South Africa. He believes that it takes a special effort from the opposition to beat India in India.

“India are favourites. India at home is a dangerous team. They are very hard to beat and that’s been the case for years,” Ganguly said about the upcoming India-South Africa Test series.
Well, it would be interesting to see when would Sourav Ganguly takes the role. Most probably, he would throw his hat when the current term of Shastri as the head coach concludes. Currently, India are locking horns with South Africa in T20I format of the game.
