Indian bowlers rattled the South African batsmen as the Proteas were dismissed for just 79 runs on the second day in the 3rd Test match of this series at Nagpur. It is the lowest total for any team against India in the Test cricket. India was bowled out at 215 runs on day 1, while Proteas are shut down their day at 11/2. Stiaan Van Zyl and the night-watchman Imran Tahir, who was promoted at the no.3, went back to the pavilion at yesterday afternoon.

India started with a bang and put the visitors at 12/5 including the wickets of Hasim Amla and AB de Villiers. Ashwin sent back Dean Elgar and Hasim Amla to the pavilion while Ravindra Jadeja took the wickets of AB de Villiers in the early morning. South African batsmen were struggling continuously against the Indian spinners.

Then Jadeja broke the highest partnership of this innings (23 runs) between JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis after taking the wicket of du Plessis and put the visitors at 35/6. Ashwin then wrapped up the visitors in his style.

Except Duminy, no other Proteas batsmen put up any fight against the Indian spinners. Amit Mishra took the only wicket of this innings when he sent back Duminy in the pavilion and made the scoreboard 76/9 for the visitors. Before getting out, Duminy scored 35 runs in 65 balls with 1 boundary and 2 over-boundaries.

Ashwin grabbed his 14th five-wicket haul and ended this innings with 5-32. Jadeja picked up 4 wickets and Mishra took just 1 wicket in this innings. India took 136 runs lead over the Proteas at the end of the 1st innings.
