India Vs Bangladesh: 5,000 Seats To Be Made Available For Students In Rajiv Gandhi Stadium

The Hyderabad Cricket Association is preparing to see school going children witness the One-off Test between India and Bangladesh which is scheduled from February 9 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

Following the order from cricket governing body Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the HCA has also allocated around 5,000 seats for different schools in Hyderabad.

The seating arrangements for students will be available in Eastern and Western parts of the stadium.

“We will be sending the circular in this regard to all the schools requesting them to inform in advance if they are keen to send their students (maximum of 500) per day so that necessary arrangements can be made,” Manoj was quoted as saying by The Hindu.

The HCA Secretary John Manoj has reiterated that they will be making special arrangements while receiving the requests from different schools in the state.

Manoj expressed that best of the security and services will be made available for the visitors.

“We are making makeshift arrangements to see that the players and the officials are in the comfort zone with the entire area cordoned off for security reasons with restricted entry,” Manoj remarked.

However, after the major overhauling in the national cricket governing body BCCI, questions were raised over the lack of funds for hosting the games in India, particularly for the state associations.

“Funds are no more an issue as we are going ahead with the preparations in full swing though we are yet to get the grant normally given for hosting a Test match by the BCCI (about Rs. 60 lakh),” revealed Manoj.

According to the report, the BCCI General Manager Ratnakar Shetty has cleared the air by stating that they would be holding the talks with HCA officials to ensure the smooth process.

Die-hard fans might find it interesting as the match tickets will be available with lowest as Rs 100 and highest as Rs 1,000.

For the two-day practice game, Bangladesh will be facing India A from February five at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground.

“Since there are plenty of practice wickets available and the playing area is of first-class standard, we don’t see any issues as far as hosting the match is concerned,” Manoj concluded.

Also, the Bangladesh Blind team is in India to participate in the Blind Cricket World Twenty20 which started from today.
