Of late, we came across the captaincy skills of Virat Kohli being questioned more often than not. Ever since he failed to make an impact on the Indian Premier League 2019, the fans and a few analysts have called that the Virat Kohli needs to step down from the captaincy. Meanwhile, CK Khanna, the acting BCCI President believes Virat Kohli is a fantastic skipper.
The captaincy skills of Virat Kohli were headlined when Australians won the series against India in the home conditions. The absence of MS Dhoni in the squad followed by three losses on a trot made Virat Kohli a scapegoat for the harsh headlines. However, Khanna is confident of Virat Kohli.
The acting president quoted that the run-machine of India Kohli is the right candidate to lead the Indian National Cricket Team., He believes that the Indian team will win the world cup under the captaincy of Virat, who never backs down.
“I wished him all the luck and I am pretty confident that we will win the World Cup under Virat’s leadership,” Khanna said after meeting Kohli.
They have picked the best 15 – CK Khanna
The former selector of the BCCI quoted that the current selection panel has announced a perfect squad for the upcoming tournament. He believes that there is a good blend of experience and youth in the side, which will be winning the team during the crunch situations of the game.
“The selectors have picked the best 15 and it’s our job to back the team,” said Khanna, who didn’t wish to comment on Delhi man Rishabh Pant’s omission.
It was a bit surprising to see CK Khanna not answering to the query regarding Rishabh Pant. The Delhi youngster was expected to be on the 15-man squad but surprisingly, Dinesh Karthik made into the squad. A lot of debates carried on that slot in recent times.
Well, as CK Khanna said, the squad that was picked by the selection panel for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 looks complete. The captaincy skills of Virat Kohli will also be tested during the course of the tournament.
