In limited-overs cricket, the former Indian World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh was a great partner. This mentioned ODI was played just after Dhoni’s stepping down from the limited-overs captaincies of the national team.

In this Cuttack ODI, the first batting team India lost their first three wickets for just 25 runs. However, the experienced cricketers Yuvraj and Dhoni not only handled that situation impressively, but also guided the national team to the giant first innings total.

For the fourth wicket, Yuvraj and Dhoni put the 256 runs partnership. While the left-handed batsman Yuvraj scored 150 runs off 127 balls (21 fours and 3 sixes), right-handed wicket-keeper batsman Dhoni scored 134 runs off 122 balls (10 fours and 6 sixes). Their batting helped the Indian team to manage the first innings total of 381/6 (50 overs).

In reply, England were restricted to 366/8 (50 overs) as the hosts won that game by 15 runs.
