Indian Team Will Be Present During The Unveiling Of The Stand In Virat Kohli’s Name

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) will be naming a stand of Arun Jaitely Stadium after Virat Kohli on Thursday (12th September). The whole Indian team will be present at Jawahar Lal Stadium for the occasion, a senior board functionary speaks to IANS. The Indian team will gather in Delhi before going to Dharamshala for T20I.

“The boys will be there when DDCA unveils the stand in Kohli’s name. The boys are assembling in the capital on Thursday before heading to Dharamsala on Friday,” the functionary said.

Earlier, in August, Feroz Shah Kotla was renamed as Arun Jaitely Stadium in remembrance of the great politician and cricket lover.

Virat Kohli-led Indian cricketers are ready for the South African challenge

Virat Kohli’s team is preparing itself for the coming home challenge against South Africa. The visitors have already arrived in Indian grounds. It will be their first campaign after the disappointing World Cup 2019 performance. Quinton de Kock-led T20I team is full of young players as Faf Du Plessis is given rest and Hashim Amla has retired.

South African player Kagiso Rabada has shown the excitement for playing against India through Twitter: “Excited to be back in India and looking forward to playing cricket again.”

The three-match T20I series is scheduled to start from 15th September at Dharamshala. Following matches will be played in Mohali and Bengaluru. T20I is followed by three-match Test series, starting from 2nd October.

India T20I squad has been announced in which young players like Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar and Manish Pandey are given chances. The all-rounder Hardik Pandya is also included after giving him break in the West Indies Tour.
