After the ongoing Bangladesh tour of India, Windies will tour in India for the limited-overs series. In this tour, they will play the three-match T20I series and three-match ODI series from 6th to 22nd December 2019.
They will play the three T20Is at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai (6th December), Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram (8th December) and Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad (11th December). All these T20Is will be the night games.
The national selectors are likely to announce the Indian limited-overs squads for these home series on this Thursday (21st November).
Before the squad announcement, here is the 15-member probable Indian squad for the home T20I series against Windies.
The limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma is playing consistent cricket since the start of this year. The national selectors and team management feel that Rohit Sharma now needs a rest. According to the recent various news reports, Rohit can take rest from the ODI series against Windies. However, his presence in the upcoming T20I series is unsure. But while the team management is serious to make a great set up the before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, they can continue him in the T20I squad. Rohit is in great form but it is also true that the right-handed batsman needs enough rest.
Another senior opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is currently not in his familiar touch. Though the left-handed batsman is getting good starts and still scoring some good runs, his strike-rate has massively gone down. Dhawan is currently struggling to score runs quickly. It is important for India that Dhawan finds his form as soon as possible.
