It’s official! According to an official press release, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the 2015 edition of the Indian Premier League will get kick started on April 8 at the Eden Gardens and the finals is slated to take place at the Eden Gardens on May 24 and the franchisees have already started with the first trading window that opened on October 6. 

In the first trading window, only two players have been traded till now. Mumbai Indians have drafted in Unmukt Chand from Rajasthan Royals and R. Vinay Kumar from Kolkata Knightriders and have released Mike Hussey and Praveen Kumar (who replaced Zaheer Khan in the IPL 2014). Now, both these players can enter the IPL 2015 through the Player Auction.

The first trading window will close on Friday, December 12, 2014. The IPL Governing Council has also decided the windows for the 2016 and 2017 seasons of the tournament. The IPL 2016 will be played between April 8 and May 29, 2016. IPL 2017 will be played from April 5 to May 21, 2017.
