Many cricketers left in the midway while few sustained before the start of the tournament.
The franchises have named replacements for the injured players. However, it will be interesting to see how the players cope up in such a small time and put up good performances.
Let us look at the list of injured cricketers in this IPL:
Pat Cummins:
The tall and lanky Australian is the latest to join the long list of injured players. Mumbai Indians roped in Cummins for Rs 5.4 Cr.

Nathan Coulter-Nile:
Royal Challengers Bangalore picked the Australian fast bowler to end their bowling worries. However, Coulter-Nile is yet to recover from his injury, and his date of return is still not known.
Meanwhile, the pacer had an outstanding stint last year with Kolkata Knight Riders. He claimed five wickets from eight games at an average of 19.97.
Moreover, The Royal Challengers replaced the pacer with New Zealand’s all-rounder Corey Anderson.
Mitchell Starc:
The spearhead of Australian bowling unit will miss the entire the season of this year’s IPL. KKR bought him for a hefty sum of Rs. 9.4 crore.
However, Starc suffered a stress fracture in his right leg before the fourth Test against South Africa. England’s Tom Curran replaced him in the Knight Riders‘ squad and had already played a match.
Kedar Jadhav:
The pocket-sized dynamo suffered a hamstring injury during Chennai’s first game against Mumbai Indians. Although, he came back to win the match with his last over heroics.
However, Jadhav will have to sit out for at least six weeks which rules him out of this IPL. Meanwhile, CSK replaced Jadhav with England all-rounder David Willey.

Delhi Daredevils retained Rabada by using the Right to Match (RTM) option for Rs 4.2 Cr. However, Rabada, who had played a lot of cricket in the past one year has pulled out due to extra workload.
Meanwhile, this came as a blow for Delhi, as they have already missed their star bowler. The Daredevils have lost two out of two games. England all-rounder Liam Plunkett will slot in as Rabada’s replacement.
Jason Behrendorff:
Mumbai Indians bought Behrendroff at the auctions earlier. But a back injury meant he was not going to be able to feature in the tournament.
It opened the gates for Mitchell McClenaghan, who was with the franchise for the past three years. Mumbai roped in McClenaghan for Rs 1 crore.
Zahir Khan:
Rajasthan roped in the young spinner from Afghanistan after his impressive stint in the ICC U19 World Cup.
