Delhi Daredevils won the toss and decided to field first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the thirteenth match of the Indian Premier League at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Here is the match report:

Gautam Gambhir:

“We are gonna bowl first. Looks like a good track. Won’t change much. Try to control. They have got the most loyal fans. Wouldn’t have been successful without their support. This wicket will suit him as well.”

Dinesh Karthik:

“All teams seem to be chasing. Just one change. Tom Curran comes in for Mitchell Johnson.”

Preview:

The game marks the return of Gautam Gambhir at the Eden Gardens albeit in a different colour. For the past seven seasons, Gambhir was the darling of the Kolkata crowd, having led the franchise to two IPL titles and transform them into a real powerhouse. However, the Kolkata crowd will have to bear the pain of seeing Gambhir leading Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming game.

But emotions aside, the hosts would be desperate to get back to winning way after suffering two consecutive defeats. They began the season with an impressive win over Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, they ended up on the losing side against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

On the other hand, Delhi faced a heavy defeat in their season-opener against Kings XI Punjab. Then they failed to chase down 71 in 6 overs in a rain-curtailed game against Rajasthan Royals. However, they thrashed Mumbai Indians in style to get back to winning ways. With momentum on their side, the Delhi-based outfit will be looking to pile more miseries on Kolkata.

Playing eleven:

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik(w/c), Andre Russell, Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi, Tom Curran, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav

Delhi Daredevils:
