IPL 2018: Match 9, Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils – Mumbai Indians’ Predicted XI
However, they will be eager to change tracks when they face a depleted Delhi Daredevils side on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium. The Daredevils are also coming from the back of two back-to-back defeats.
Meanwhile, it is a matter of luck for the Mumbai side, as they lost both the games in the last over. Mumbai will look to get their basics right and keep their head cool in an attempt to change their fortunes.
However, it is likely that Hardik Pandya will slot in the first XI after recovering from injury.
Here is the predicted XI of Mumbai:
Rohit Sharma (c):
Skipper Rohit Sharma will curse for not capitalising on the starts. He needs to score runs at the top if Mumbai has to post a good total on the board.
However, the team management will want a captains’ knock from the dashing opener.
The swashbuckling opener from Windies is capable of striking the ball very hard. However, he is yet to make a mark in this edition of the T20 league. Although Lewis scored a quickfire 29 in the last game, he will want to contribute more.
Ishan Kishan (wk):
The young wicket-keeper failed to score runs after getting a good start in the opening fixture. He will be keen to contribute in batting at the crucial one drop position. However, he was good with the gloves on.
Surya Kumar Yadav:
The local boy is currently the most consistent player in this Mumbai line-up. He had contributed significantly in both the games. Moreover, he will look to continue his game and make a strong case for himself in such a big stage.
Keeping Krunal Pandya out of the game is tough. He can contribute to all the departments. He has had a good start to the tournament and will continue doing so.
A fit-again Pandya will be desperate to bring Mumbai back on winning track. Hid reasonably well in the opening fixture, although, his team lost.
He is raring to contribute to the franchise, who has shown a lot of faith in him.
After not getting an opportunity to contribute in the first game, Pollard played a responsible knock against Hyderabad. He scored 28 runs off 23 balls including three fours and two sixes. He will look to contribute more in the next game.
The all-rounder from Australia had a poor game against the Sunrisers. However, he is capable of playing the long handles and break partnerships at crucial junctures. Cutting will bring depth in Mumbai’s batting order.
The young leg-spinner is so far the find of the season. Despite Mumbai losing two games, he had already left a long-lasting impression. So far, he is the Purple Cap holder with seven wickets in two matches.
The death-over specialist didn’t have a very good start to the tournament. Although, he picked wickets but failed to contain runs. Bumrah will be eager to bring his A-game and help Mumbai win.
The left-arm pacer from Bangladesh was outstanding in the last game. Mustafizur returned with three for 24 in his four overs and kept Mumbai in the game. He will look to pick wickets and provide his team with breakthroughs.
