IPL 2019: Gully Boy Was Inspirational In Some Ways – Prithvi Shaw

The Indian youngster Prithvi Shaw is highly obsessed with the rap of the new Bollywood movie ‘Gully Boy’. He called the movie as an inspiration for him.
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Bollywood movie ‘Gully Boy’ has already touched the hearts of many Indian youths. Prithvi Shaw is one of them, and he is openly using the rap of the movie in his daily life.
Recently, when he spent a good time with MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli during the Indian team’s World Cup jersey launch event, he used one rap from the movie as a caption.
Posting a picture of their meeting, Prithvi Shaw wrote on his official social media accounts, “Yeh BHAI log jaisa koi Hard ich nahi hai @imVkohli @msdhoni #legend”

Recently, the young boy told India Today, “I absolutely loved that movie and it was inspirational in some ways. That’s why I thought of putting that caption after posing with the two legends.”
Prithvi Shaw has related his recent life to the storyline of ‘Gully Boy’ movie. He has faced many ups and downs in recent times but doesn’t want to focus on the downs.
He said, “There were many ups and downs over the one year. But I don’t think much about the downs now. I don’t want to bring in negative vibes in my career. Whatever opportunities I got after the Under-19 World Cup, I tried to make most of it and do my best for the team. That is the reason why I kept moving up. It was a great feeling to score a century on Test debut. I got a lot of confidence. To be there in that dressing room, amongst all those greats and to do well in their presence is a great thing for a youngster.”
I don’t want to think much about my injury in Australia
During the recent Australian tour, Prithvi Shaw suffered an ankle injury. While the youngster was initially in the Test squad, he missed out the entire historical Test series due to that injury.
However, Prithvi Shaw has come over that phase, and he is now focusing on the new IPL season. The 19-year-old has announced that he is fit and ready for the new IPL season.
He said, “I don’t want to think much about my injury in Australia. That phase is history. I am also not focusing too much on the World Cup. I just want to concentrate on the IPL right now. The rehab has gone well and I am fully fit now for the IPL. I have worked quite hard for the past couple of months after spending my time at the NCA in Bangalore. I played the domestic T20 tournament and am ready for the IPL now.”
In the recently concluded 2018/19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw played eight matches. The right-handed batsman scored 134 runs in that tournament with an average of 16.75. He played one great match-winning innings in that tournament which was against Goa where he scored 71 runs.
The youngster is now ready to serve for his IPL team Delhi Capitals (DC). In the last season, he performed very well with the bat for the Delhi franchise. He is confident with the present side for the new season.
Prithvi Shaw said, “I waited for this for long. Now I am back. The team has got a new name and I feel we have a big responsibility. The team is looking quite good and strong, right from the players to the support staff. Everything is going perfectly as per the plan.”

Prithvi Shaw is excited to work with Sourav Ganguly, Mohammad Kaif and Ricky Ponting in the ongoing IPL season. He wants to learn from them as much as possible.
He added, “I have worked with Rahul Sir for so many years and now there is Sourav Sir, Kaif Sir and Ricky Ponting Sir. I want to get the maximum out from them as they have played 15-20 years of international cricket. It will be very beneficial for me if I can grab maximum knowledge about the game from them.”
Talking about the Delhi Capital squad, Prithvi Shaw is excited to enjoy the entire IPL season.
He added, “There will be a lot of josh with Ishant bhai and Shikhar paaji being there, not just on the field but also off it. There will be a lot of masti and we will enjoy a lot this season.”
Delhi Capitals will begin their IPL 2019 journey on 24th March when they will face Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
