IPL 2019: MS Dhoni Bhai Was Angry With Me But After Match, He Hugged Me – Deepak Chahar

In the last game against Kings Xi Punjab, the fans witnessed the Angry-MS Dhoni during the death overs of the game. Deepak Chahar was the victim of his skipper for bowling a couple of back-to-back no-balls. Meanwhile, he revealed the story behind it.

With 39 runs required off 12 balls, the odds are with Chennai Super Kings. However, Chahar has got other ideas, who bowled a waist-high full toss that was smashed to a boundary by Sarfaraz Khan. The followed-up delivery was also a similar no-ball.

Certainly, the unhappy MS Dhoni walked towards the bowler and gave quick learning to the youngster. Surprisingly, it worked like a magic, as Chahar made a stunning comeback and uprooted the stumps of David Miller in the last ball of the over.

Dhoni Bhai was very angry with me – Deepak Chahar

Revealing the story, Deepak Chahar quoted that he pretty upset in the dressing room after the incident. However, all the teammates congratulated him for doing well enough in the game.

“Dhoni Bhai was very angry with me. It was a big mistake that I made. He said a lot of things. Honestly, at the back of my mind, I was thinking ‘what to bowl next?’,” Chahar told TimesofIndia.com.

After some time, MS Dhoni also made his way and hugged Deepak Chahar by congratulating him ”Well Done” Further, the skipper asked him to continue the good show for the team.

“After the match every player of my team came and congratulated me. They said I bowled brilliantly at the death’,” Chahar said.

“Dhoni bhai also came up to me. He smiled and hugged me. He said ‘well done’. I know I bowled two bad deliveries, but I made an immediate comeback. He (Dhoni) also encouraged me and asked me to do well in the tournament. I was extremely happy that I contributed in my team’s victory.

However, it is such a pleasing sight to see the youngster praising the stalwart of the game. More often than not, MS Dhoni’s words have always worked like magic during the match. Perhaps, it was the respect from the youngsters, which plays a role there.

With Dwayne Bravo being out of the team for at least a couple of weeks and the team management going with three spinners, perhaps, Deepak Chahar would be assigned to bowl death overs for upcoming few matches.
