ToggleDue to the coronavirus outbreak, IPL 2020 has been postponed till mid-April 2020. While the eight franchises were looking forward to starting their preparation for the new IPL season, they are now looking at the uncertain future.
Recently, the former Indian cricketer and the present cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has rated the IPL captains before the beginning of the IPL 2020.
Here are Aakash Chopra’s detailed ratings of IPL 2020 captains
8. KL Rahul (Kings XI Punjab)

According to Chopra, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain KL Rahul is in good form, but it will be a new experience for him to lead a team. After their former captain Ravichandran Ashwin decided to move out to Delhi Capitals (DC), the franchise decided to make Rahul as a skipper of this side.
7. Shreyas Iyer (Delhi Capitals)

Chopra praised the Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer, but he felt that the youngster was dependent more on the coaching guidance.
6. David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Ahead of the IPL 2020, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) decided to bring back David Warner in the captaincy role as the Australian has replaced Kane Williamson for this role. While Warner generally fields at long-on or long-off, Chopra feels that it is hard to lead the side properly. He also added that Warner’s captaincy approach was not the right method which was mostly executing the thoughts of the coaching staff.
5. Dinesh Karthik (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Chopra gave his personal feeling on the Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) captain Dinesh Karthik. He believes that Karthik can’t lead the side from the front if he comes to bat at late. While he praised for his ability to bring out good cricket from the team, but Chopra also mentioned that Karthik made enough mistakes as a leader.
4. Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Chopra hasn’t been impressed with Virat Kohli as a captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He feels that there were much faulty in his captaincy for RCB such as selecting the playing XI, choosing the bowlers according to the situation. Chopra even feels that Kohli could be behind of Karthik in terms of the IPL captaincy. But the former has high hope from the successful Indian captain in the new IPL season.
3. Steven Smith (Rajasthan Royals)
Chopra praised the Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) captain Steven Smith. Talking about Smith’s leadership quality, Chopra lauded his experience as a captain, leading from the front quality, better understanding the players in quick time, having a good sense of the fielding positions etc.
2. Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians)

Chopra praised the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma as he believes that he has good captaincy material. The former Indian opener specially mentioned his impressive game control quality without getting animated. But Chopra put him behind of MS Dhoni due to always having best squads in the side.
1. MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings)

According to Chopra, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni effectively leads an ordinary side. While Chopra isn’t impressed with the present aged CSK side, he lauded Dhoni’s captaincy skills in the cool and calm way.
