Rajasthan Royals have roped in 17-year prodigy Mumbai batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal for INR 2.40 crores. The young southpaw batsman had set his base price at INR 20 lakhs and he will make his IPL debut in the upcoming season. Royals needed an opening batsman in their squad after trading out their former skipper Ajinkya Rahane.

The southpaw batsman has made a name for himself in the domestic circuit and he is a perfect addition to the Rajasthan Royals unit. The left-hander announced himself in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019. The Mumbai batsman was able to hit the ground running in the domestic tourney.

The greenhorn batsman has impressed in the domestic circuit.

The prodigy batsman gathered 564 runs in the six matches of the tournament. He had scored his runs at an impressive average of 112.80 and a strike rate of 104.05. The southpaw batsman scored three centuries and one fifty in the tournament.

Yashasvi Jaiswal also became the youngest cricketer in the world to score a double century in List A cricket. The left-hander had scored 203 runs off just 154 balls against Jharkhand.

Ergo, Yashasvi Jaiswal will like to make amends in the upcoming IPL season. The IPL is known to throw opportunities to the young players coming up the ranks and it would be great chance for Yashasvi Jaiswal to grab the same with both hands.

It would be a perfect opportunity for the youngster.

The left-hander will like to hit the ground running and it is a new start in his budding career. Jaiswal is likely to open the innings with Jos Buttler for the Rajasthan Royals.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have also roped in Jaydev Unadkat for INR 3 crores. Rajasthan Royals have also brought Kartik Tyagi for INR 1.30 crores. The inaugural champions have also grabbed Akash Singh and Anuj Rawat for INR 20 and 80 lakhs respectively.

Royals have also roped in the services of experienced batsman Robin Uthappa for INR 3 crores.
