On Friday (October 9) while playing against Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah, Rishabh Pant was captured limping while wicketkeeping although he didn’t leave the ground. But it had increased tension whether DC is going to get another set back due to injury after Amit Mishra being ruled out of IPL 2020 because of sustaining an injury in the finger.
But, luckily, Rishabh Pant has not suffered from any injury it is just soreness. He was until the end of RRs innings, picking the last catch of Varun Aaron to bundle out them for 138 runs. However, seeing him limping might have feared Delhi Capitals because the wicketkeeper-batsman forms the core of the franchise’s batting order. But fortunately, he has not sustained any major injury.
Delhi Capitals won the match against Rajasthan Royals:
Rishabh Pant had scored five runs in that match against Rajasthan Royals. He was run out in a bizarre manner after miscommunication with Marcus Stoinis, standing at the striker end. However, Delhi Capitals, with the help of Shimron Hetmyer and Stoinis, posted 185 runs target. Although it was an underwhelming target in the ground like Sharjah, they were successful in defending it.
Ravichandran Ashwin, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada didn’t allow RR to score easily while they also picked wickets at regular intervals. Ashwin dismissed Royals batting mainstay Jos Buttler in the power play. The other two vital cogs of RR Steve Smith and Sanju Samson lost their wickets within 11 overs of the game.
Rahul Tewatia tried to pull things for his team but Rabada picked his wicket. Following this, the lower-middle order fell like a heap of card. At last, DC registered fifth win by 46 runs.
Rishabh Pant likely to play next match against MI:
Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, Delhi Capitals are at the top of the points table with 10 points. They will move to their next game against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Rishabh Pant is likely to feature in that match.
