ToggleIn the 14th match of the IPL 2020, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) managed to claim a seven-run victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).
SunRisers Hyderabad captain David Warner decided to bat first after winning the toss. During this match, MS Dhoni broke the record of Suresh Raina (193 IPL matches) and became the most-capped player in IPL history as it was his 194th IPL match.
In the first innings, SRH scored 164/5 (20 overs). In reply, Chennai Super Kings just failed to reach the target as they scored 157/5 (20 overs).

CSK batsmen struggled from the beginning of the second innings. In the third over, opener Shane Watson (1) was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. In the sixth over, T Natarajan bowled Ambati Rayudu, who scored only 8 runs in his comeback match.
Another opener Faf du Plessis was run out on the final ball of the powerplay after playing a strong knock of 22 runs off 19 balls. Kedar Jadhav also failed to reach the double-digit score as Abdul Samad dismissed him for just three runs after captain Warner took a good catch at the extra cover.
Leg-spinner Rashid Khan bowled incredibly well in this game as he was mostly in full controlled. He finished the match with the bowling figures of 4-0-12-0.
Struggling on 42/4, captain MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja fought very hard. Just after brilliantly completing 50 runs off 34 balls, Jadeja was dismissed by T Natarajan on the next ball. Before that wicket, Dhoni and Jadeja put the 72 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. In the last two overs, CSK had to score 44 runs.
Despite huge struggling, skipper Dhoni showed his incredible passion for the game. But he failed to finish the game successfully, who remained not out on 47 runs off 36 balls (4 fours and only six). Sam Curran, who hit a sixer on his first ball and also on the last ball of the match, was not out on 15 runs off just 5 balls.

The right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar provided a great start for CSK by dismissing opener Jonny Bairstow for a duck on the fourth ball of the match. Skipper and another opener David Warner and Manish Pandey built up the 46 runs partnership for the second wicket.
While Shardul Thakur dismissed Pandey for 29 runs in the eighth over, Piyush Chawla took the wicket of Warner (28 runs) in the 11th over. On the next ball of Warner’s dismissal, Kane Williamson was run out for just 9 runs. At that stage, the SunRisers Hyderabad were struggling on 69/4.
Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma played huge roles in the middle-order that helped SRH to manage the challenging first innings total. They set up the 77 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. On the final ball of the 18th over, Deepak Chahar took the wicket of Abhishek, who scored 31 runs off 24 balls.
Garg completed his fifty in just 23 balls. At the end of that innings, he remained not out on 51 runs off only 26 balls (6 fours and only six).
