ToggleIn the 15th match of the IPL 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) comfortably beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi).
After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals captain Steven Smith decided to bat first. Rajasthan Royals scored 154/6 (20 overs) in the first innings. RCB chased down that target successfully in 19.1 overs after losing only their both openers.

Chasing down that target, opener Aaron Finch lost his wicket early for just 8 runs. However, youngster and another opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal handled that situation very well along with the captain Virat Kohli, who finally showed his impressive batting performance in this IPL season. Both the batsmen not only handled that early pressure, but they also set up the solid base for the team to chase the target comfortably.
Kohli-Padikkal strongly set up the 99 runs partnership for the second wicket. While Padikkal completed his fifty in 34 balls, Kohli scored 50 runs in 41 balls.
After scoring 63 runs off 45 balls (6 fours and only six), opener Padikkal was bowled by Jofra Archer. However, skipper Kohli finished that match comfortably along with AB de Villiers as Kohli remained not out on 72 runs off 53 balls (7 fours and 2 sixes) and De Villiers (12 not out) finished the match with a four.

From the beginning of the innings, Rajasthan Royals batsmen were struggling. At the end of the mandatory powerplay, Rajasthan Royals managed to score 38/3. Among the top four batsmen, only the opener Jos Buttler managed to reach the 20-run mark as he was dismissed on 22 runs off 12 balls (3 fours and only six).
In that entire innings, only Mahipal Lomror, who was playing his first match in this season, managed to reach the 30-run mark as he scored crucial 47 runs off 39 balls (only four and 3 sixes). Rahul Tewatia also scored 26 not out off 12 balls (3 sixes). In the late moment of that innings, Tewatia built up a 40-run partnership with Jofra Archer (16 not out) for the unbroken seventh wicket and it helped their side to cross the 150 runs mark.
RCB leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (3/24) got three wickets while Isuru Udana (2/41) picked up two wickets and Navdeep Saini (1/37) took one wicket.
