In the 17th match of the IPL 2020, Rohit Sharma-led reigning champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and David Warner-led SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) are playing against each other at Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Sharjah).
In the ongoing IPL season, it is the fifth match for both these teams. While both teams have already played four matches each in this IPL season, both sides won twice and suffered defeats in their other two matches (including the defending champions lost one match in Super Over).
Earning four points each, Mumbai Indians are standing in the third position and SRH are standing in the fourth position in the IPL 2020 points table.
Currently, the Mumbai franchise is running with the two-match winning streak against the Hyderabad franchise as they won both the matches during their league stage meetings in the IPL 2019.
IPL 2020, Match 17: Mumbai Indians vs SunRisers Hyderabad (MI vs SRH) – Toss Report
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. MI haven’t made any alteration in the playing XI.
Rohit said, “We will bat first. It has been our strength and we will back that. It is a good pitch and the toss doesn’t really matter. The game against KKR was also a perfect game. We have seen few games here, you have to believe and trust your instincts when you play in grounds like these. We are playing the same team.”
On the other hand, SRH skipper David Warner confirmed that they made two changes in the playing XI. Sandeep Sharma and Siddarth Kaul have replaced Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed.
Warner said, “Definitely would have batted as well. Exactly the same what Rohit was saying there the way our team shapes up we are confident in our bowlers to defend. We have seen some high totals here but it also gives a chance to the bowlers to pinch a couple of wickets. I think Bhuvi is a big loss for us. It is about making sure the bowlers are communicating and bowling in partnerships again. We have to do that well here today.”
