In his first over in the IPL 2020, the 21-year-old Shivam Mavi dismissed the opener Quinton de Kock (1). However, skipper and another opener Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav not only handled that early situation but set up a good base for the defending champions in that innings.

Rohit and Suryakumar had the 90 runs partnership for the second wicket. While Suryakumar was run out on 47 runs off 28 balls (6 fours and only six), Rohit soon completed his half-century in 39 balls.
