Chasing down that big target, RCB were losing their wickets at regular intervals right from the beginning. It never seemed that they could chase that target.
Opener Devdutt Padikkal (1), wicket-keeper batsman Josh Philippe (0) and captain Virat Kohli (1) lost their wickets inside the first three overs as RCB were in deep trouble on 4/3.
Only three RCB batsmen managed to reach the 20-run mark in that innings. While Washington Sundar and AB de Villiers scored 30 and 28 runs respectively, opener Aaron Finch managed to score 20 runs. Shivam Dube (12) was the only other batsman to reach the double-digit score in that innings.
Among the KXIP bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi (3/32) and Murugan Ashwin (3/21) both picked up three wickets each while Sheldon Cottrell (2/17) bagged two wickets.

Skipper Rahul remained not out of 132 runs off just 69 balls with the help of 14 fours and 7 sixes. It was the highest individual score by a captain and an Indian cricketer in IPL history.

The moment I saw #KLRahul playing such a brilliant innings I realised it was never going to be RCB's day. But, I never expected such a poor response from Kohli's batting unit. #rcbvskxip #KXIP #KXIPvsRCB #RCB #IPL2020
