IPL 2020: Patrick Farhart Joins Delhi Capitals as Chief Physio

Former Team India physio Patrick Farhart has penned a deal with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise (IPL) Delhi Capitals (DC), for the 13th edition of the cash-rich domestic T20 league. Meanwhile, the schedule for the IPL 2020 is yet to be revealed by the IPL’s Governing Council.
Earlier, the veteran physiotherapist Farhart had informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he will leave his post after the completion ICC World Cup 2019 duty in the United Kingdom (UK).

Also, his tenure had completed after the ODI World Cup. Subsequently, he alongside Team India’s fitness and conditioning coach Shankar Basu informed the board that they will discontinue their respective roles with the Indian national cricket team.
Meanwhile, the duo turned down the offer for a renewed contract.
Over the years, Farhart had developed a good bond with Team India which included skipper Virat Kohli.
Farhart has a wealth of experience in the medical field, which also makes him one of the prominent physios in the cricketing world.
Also, during his tenure, Team India’s players had witnessed a lot of change in their general lifestyle. His introduction had helped Men in Blue with the recent example of fast bowler Mohammad Shami.

The senior-most physio Farhart had joined Team India in 2015. Also, he had bid adieu to the BCCI and Indian team with an emotional note.
Meanwhile, Farhart has begun his new journey with Capitals to serve as a chief physio on August 2. He also expressed that he is looking forward to an exciting stint with one of the quality teams in the IPL.

Besides, Capitals had expressed delighted for signing Farhart as the physio.
