Kapil Dev quoted that they are doing their job in picking the right person for the Indian National Cricket Team. He believes that there is no pressure on him or his panel members regarding the announcement of the head coach and the other important roles in the coaching staff.

”Pressure, what pressure?” he shot back when asked about the upcoming responsibility. “It is not tough. You do your job to the best of your abilities. It becomes tough only when you don’t fulfil your responsibilities,” he said.
We Respect the captain’s opinion:
The World Cup-winning former skipper however assured that his panel will do their job to the best of their ability. Kohli during his pre-departure press conference didn’t hide that he would love to see current head coach Ravi Shastri get another term.

“That’s his [Kohli] opinion we have to respect everybody’s opinion,” Kapil told reporters before receiving the Bharat Gaurav, East Bengal’s highest honour.
Kapil Dev speaks on the rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma:
Following India’s run in the recently-concluded ICC World Cup 2019 edition, in England and Wales, there have been claims of a rift between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy in Rohit Sharma. Speaking of the same, Kapil Dev believes that rift can be there between them but asks them to have that off the field. He wants them to see for the victory when they play in the Indian Jersey.

“There can be off-the-field differences, but it all ultimately boils down to how you play on the field. Everyone should only look at that,” said India’s greatest all-rounder. I feel outside the field, there can be differences in the way of thinking or approach towards the game. But when you’re playing, there should be only one aim and that is how we can win a match. That is important,” he remarked.
