SRH captain David Warner is confident about facing English speedster Jofra Archer, who managed to take his wicket in four out of five innings in the recently concluded white ball series between England and Australia. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL in 2016 and will once again fight for the title in the 13th edition of the IPL. The captaincy has been again given to Australian David Warner under whom they won the title in 2016.
The SRH team has been training in the UAE for the past two weeks after completing their mandatory quarantine. The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played in the UAE this season.
There is nothing to worry about: David Warner on facing Jofra Archer again
The England speedster was a nuisance for David Warner in the recently concluded white ball series between England and Australia. He managed to get Warner out on four different occasions for which Warner feels he could do nothing about comparing it with Stuart Broad’s performance against him in the Ashes.
However, David Warner is confident about facing Archer now, telling he batted pretty decent against him in the last ODI. He was about the threat from Archer to which he replied ‘the faster you bowl, the further you go.’
“At the end of the day, they are going to get you out, doesn’t matter if they have your measure or not. He bowled three good balls to me, I can’t do anything about that just like Stuart Broad bowled about eight good balls at me (in the Ashes),” David Warner said.
When two (good) guys are at their peak at that moment, it’s very difficult to unsettle that, but in the last game I batted pretty well against Archer so there is nothing to worry about,” Warner said in a media interaction from Dubai.
David Warner to lead SRH in IPL 2020
David Warner was barred from playing in 2018 due to his involvement in the ball-tampering incident against South Africa and did not captain the SRH side last season. However, he has been given the responsibility this season yet again to lead the Hyderabad based side.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won their maiden IPL in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner and will once again fight for the title in the 13th edition of the IPL. He has 4,706 IPL runs from 126 games, and has the highest aggregate runs among foreign players in the IPL.
The SRH team is well balanced with veterans and youngsters and have a good team to challenge for the title. SRH will play its IPL 2020 opening match against RCB on the 21st of September.
