Rajasthan Royals could have dreamt of the record of an unbeaten league finish in the history of the IPL, had they not slipped against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the last over. The 44th match of LSG vs RR in the IPL 2024 will happen on April 27, at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.

The hosts would be in a good mood, after their back-to-back wins against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The way they chased 211 to breach the Chepauk fortress, would increase the belief in the camp.

Just like their last two season, they started the tournament on a good note. What they improved from the last year was holding their nerve in tough moments, and never allowing the opposition to come with full force.

The story for Rajasthan Royals is different from the previous season. They began the IPL 2023 with four wins in five games, but their end wasn’t been average. Their six defeats in the next nine games blew them away from the top four. They need to be careful of the same in this IPL 2024- the importance of not getting drained out by the time the tournament reaches the business end.

Their all-round performance has helped them do the job, while the same has happened for Lucknow. However, before the LSG vs RR clash, their main concern for them is their death bowling. Their economy of close to 11 in the last five overs is the third worst among the 10 teams. They also have taken the third lowest wickets (14) in this period.

The injury of their rockstar Mayank Yadav hasn’t helped them at all going into the LSG vs RR contest.

LSG vs RR Head-to-Head Record in IPL at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow

Quite surprisingly, the fifth LSG vs RR clash will be the first game for RR in Lucknow. In the last game between them at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan, at the start of this IPL, the hosts put up a big score of 193, thanks to Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 82-run knock. In reply, despite the fifties from KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran, LSG fell short by 20 runs.

Because of IPL happening in two to three specific grounds since 2021 due to COVID-19, the Ekana Stadium never got the chance to host the Royals.
