Former Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Daniel Vettori has reflected on the good time he has spent with the franchise. Vettori was replaced by Gary Kirsten as the head coach of the side.

Meanwhile, as Daniel Vettori could not take the side to any win in the Indian Premier League, the change was always on the cards. In fact, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were not able to reach the playoff stages in the last two season. However, Vettori served as the head coach for a period of five years. Thus, the former New Zealand captain was also out of contract.

“It was a pragmatic decision that I fully understand, two years of poor results and time for a change. I was out of contract, also. Five years is a great run for a coach. Loved my time there,” Vettori said while talking to the Herald.

In fact, Daniel Vettori also played as a player for the Bangalore franchise before serving as the head coach. He also led the franchise and had handed over the captaincy baton to current captain Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at the bottom of the points table in the 2017 season. However, they finished at the sixth position in the eleventh season of the Indian Premier League.
