During the 32nd match of the IPL 2020 on Friday (16th October) evening, the 26-year-old right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah equalled the record of most T20 wickets among the Indian pacers.
In this match, the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) were facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi). The newly-appointed KKR captain Eoin Morgan chose to bat first after winning the toss. In the first innings of the match, Jasprit Bumrah reached the joint top spot of the most T20 wickets among the Indian pacers by equalling the record of R Vinay Kumar.
Before this match, Jasprit Bumrah (193 wickets) was one wicket behind from the 36-year-old Indian right-arm medium pacer R Vinay Kumar (194 wickets). Ahead of this match, Bumrah managed 193 wickets in 164 T20 matches. Meanwhile, Vinay Kumar has bagged 194 T20 wickets in 181 T20s.

Picking up the only wicket of his 165th T20 match, Bumrah became the joint most T20 wicket-taker for India among the pacers. In the 11th over of that innings, KKR middle-order batsman Andre Russell was caught out and Bumrah claimed his 194th T20 wicket.

In overall, Bumrah is currently in the joint 6th position in the list of most T20 wicket-takers from India. All the top five most T20 wicket-takers among the Indian bowlers are right-arm spinners.

Jasprit Bumrah made his debut in T20 cricket in March 2013. During the West Zone match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2012/13 against Maharashtra (17th March 2013), Bumrah made his T20 debut serving for Gujarat. He is one of the best pacers in Indian cricket history.

Bumrah has already played 128 international matches, including 50 T20Is. At present, he is the most T20I wicket-taker for India as he has taken 59 wickets in T20I career.
