ToggleOn day four (12th March) of the final of the Ranji Trophy 2019/20 at Rajkot, while the Bengal batsmen have frustrated the Saurashtra cricketers, the best bowler of this tournament and the Saurashtra skipper Jaydev Unadkat destroyed a wicket with a powerful throw.
The Ranji Trophy 2019/20 final between Saurashtra and Bengal is running in very tight way from the first day morning. None of the sides is leaving the game without making the tough fight. Both teams have faced many struggles in this game but they have remarkably made the comebacks into the game too.
After a long fight for the first two days and the early period of the first session of the third day of this final match, Saurashtra managed to score 425 runs before losing their all wickets. While Arpit Vasavada (106) scored a century, Cheteshwar Pujara (66), Avi Barot (54) and Vishvaraj Jadeja (54) also played crucial knocks in that innings. Also, their lower-order batsmen added some crucial runs.

In reply, Bengal lost both of their openers cheaply as they went down to 35/2. But first Sudip Chatterjee-Manoj Tiwary partnership, and then the partnership between Chatterjee and Wriddhiman Saha have massively helped to rescue the team. Bengal ended the day three on 134/3.
On day four of this match, Saurashtra got a few chances but they failed to utilise those opportunities and hugely struggled to break the fourth wicket partnership between Chatterjee and Saha.
Wicketless Jaydev Unadkat broke a middle stump
Meanwhile, the left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, who has taken 65 wickets in this season and standing on the position of the leading wicket-taker without any danger, hasn’t taken a wicket in the game yet.

Frustrating for not taking any wicket in this crucial match, Jaydev Unadkat once threw back the returning ball to the batting end stumps. That powerful throw not only hit the middle stump, but it also broke that stump in two pieces. However, the batsman Chatterjee was safe in the crease as it didn’t affect in wicket column in Bengal’s innings.
Soon, a fresh stump was bought and that game was continued.

While Saha scored 64 runs, Chatterjee played a great knock of 81 runs. Now, Anustup Majumdar (58*) is fighting as Bengal managed to score 354/6 at the stumps on day four. On the final day of this match, Bengal must have to score 71 more runs in this innings to secure the Ranji Trophy 2019/20.
