Australia’s young fast bowler Jhye Richardson has named Virat Kohli as the best batsman he has never bowled to in his career. Richardson reckons that the Indian captain is at a different level when he is batting and he pushes his teammate to give their best. Kohli’s hunger for runs is insatiable and he gives his 120% on the field. The talisman brings out his best against the top teams and there is hardly any chunk in his armor.
Richardson added that Kohli’s energy on the field is unbelievable and he wants to dominate the opposition bowler from the first ball. Kohli hardly gives a chance to the bowler and he plays at a different level altogether. The linchpin always wants to push the envelope and gives his best.

Jhye Richardson stated that Kohli wanted to take him down straight away when he bowled to him on the Indian tour. The Indian captain always to be involved in a battle and there is no escape for the bowler when he is batting in full flow.
“Virat Kohli without a doubt,” said Richardson when he was asked to name the best batsman he has bowled to in a podcast.
“He (Virat Kohli) bats with so much energy and you can tell he’s on a different level than anyone else you bowl to. Even in the Indian team when you’ve got the Rohit Sharma’s and all but Kohli’s at a different level. He hits the ball in areas that you can’t even imagine. You can tell that he pushes the other guys in the team to sort of step up when he’s batting with them. He’s unbelievable. He can change a game like that,” said Richardson.
“There was a few times that I bowled to him in India post their Australian tour, as soon as I came on to bowl, it’s like he wanted to take me down straight away. He was in the fight from ball 1. I felt I was on the backfoot,” added Richardson.

In fact, Richardson has a good record while bowling to Virat Kohli. The right-arm pacer who hits the right areas has dismissed Kohli four times in the ODI format. Three out of these four dismissals had come on India’s tour of Australia in 2019.
The Western Australian has snared 24 wickets in 13 ODI matches at an average of 28.75 whereas he has taken six wickets in two Test matches. Richardson recently went under the knife for shoulder surgery.
