Burns, who’s playing on 125 off 282 balls will cherish his innings for so long because the surface wasn’t that easiest to bat on. Thus, his knock has helped England to reach 267 for four as they trail by just 17 runs in the first Australian innings.
Rory Relishes Ashes ton at Edgbaston:

Meanwhile, with Burns relishing his hard-fought ton, he had equally faced criticism for his unorthodox technique. The southpaw had backed himself to produce a scintillating knock by recording a sublime hundred.
“I buried my head in the sand to all of the comments, media and that sort of stuff. And I just tried to get myself around people that back me – team-mates, coaches. I tried to back my own skills,” Burns said after second day’s play.
The 28-year-old youngster, who plays for Surrey in the County cricket, had made things miserable for Australian bowlers despite his strike-rate reading around 45.
The occasional wicketkeeper Burns had made his Test debut in November 2018 against Sri Lanka at Galle.
Meanwhile, Kiwis social media hero Neesham had played a pivotal role for the Black Caps at the World Cup. He had impressed one and all both with bat and ball.
