India opener KL Rahul’s performance has witnessed a down steep in Test matches. He has failed to stand on the hopes of captain Virat Kohli although he is every time being backed by the team management.

The Karnataka, who showed a lot of promise in his early has struggled for consistency. During India tour of Australia in 2018, KL Rahul managed to score only 57 runs in 3 Test matches with an average of 11.40. His last Test century was against England at The Oval when India has already lost the series. Rahul needs to buck up and deliver the goods to retain his place in the playing XI.

KL Rahul has managed to score just 494 Test runs in last one year at an average of 23.52. His upsetting performance puts a question mark on his future as a Test batsman. In the tour of West Indies, KL Rahul scored 44 and 38 runs in the first Test match whereas in the second Test match his performance went down with just 13 and 6 runs.

Owing to his poor returns in West Indies, Rahul is being continuously trolled on social media. Many urged the management to replace him with Rohit Sharma at the top of the batting order. KL Rahul has finally responded to all the trolls with a cryptic message.  It will be interesting to see whether the Karnatak opener makes it to the playing XI when India play South Africa in the three-match series. The three-match series will get underway from October 2.

Rahul wore a T-shirt with a caption, “No Social Media”, and then captioned it writing ‘Irony’.
