West Indies’ opener and part-time off-spinner Kraigg Brathwaite has been reported for a suspected bowling action by the International Cricket Council. Brathwaite has been reported for the action after he bowled in the two-match Test series against India. The off-spinner was able to get the wicket of Ishant Sharma in the 140th over of the first innings of the second Test match.
Meanwhile, the part-time spinner had also rolled his arm in the first Test match but had gone wicketless. In fact, Kraigg Brathwaite has been reported for the second time in his career.
Brathwaite reported for the second time.
Consequently, the right-arm spinner will need to go through a bowling test before September 14. However, he is allowed to bowl till then but West Indies don’t have any matches on the schedule.
Kraigg Brathwaite was reported for the time when West Indies had toured to England in 2017. However, he was able to get a green chit from the governing body and once again started to bowl.
Meanwhile, Kraigg Brathwaite could not deliver the goods for West Indies in the recently concluded Test series. The opening right-hander could only manage to score 28 runs in the four innings of the series. He scored 46 in the unofficial Test match against India A while playing for West Indies A before the Test series.
Consequently, West Indies succumbed to ignominious defeat in the T20I, ODI, and Test series. The hosts lost the T20I series 3-0, ODI series 2-0 and Test series 2-0. Hence, it was a complete performance from the potent Indian side as they remain unbeaten on the tour.
