Team India wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has a merry-time following his consistent show with the ball. The promising youngster has bagged a career-best second bowling position in the recently released ICC T20I Rankings. He has moved up a spot following his figures of two for 26 against New Zealand in the third and final T20 match at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
Well, the coveted chart is dominated by none other than Afghanistan leg-spin sensation Rashid Khan. The 20-year-old Rashid has been in a fantastic form to settle on the throne.
Interestingly, no other Indian National Cricket Team has found a place in the top 15. Kuldeep’s partner in crime and promising leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has maintained 17th spot after losing six spots, whereas, fast bowling spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar is 18th on the list.
The 24-year-old Kuldeep claimed the wicket of Kiwis wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert and his opening partner Colin Munro to achieve the feat. However, India lost the three-match T20 series by 2-1 by losing the last-ball thriller by four runs on Sunday (February 10).
It’s important to point out that Kuldeep who has a bag full of tricks played the only game of the T20 series against Kiwis while replacing Chahal.
Regarding the left-arm spin bowling option, Krunal Pandya achieved career-best 58th spot after jumping 39 places. Recently, he bagged three wickets in the penultimate T20 at Eden Park in Auckland against the Black Caps.
