Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has given his opinion of much-talked debate about MS Dhoni’s future as an international cricketer. As per Ganguly, selectors and skipper Virat Kohli should take a decision on his (Dhoni’s) career.
“I don’t know what the selectors think, what Virat thinks. They are the important persons, let them make the decision,” Sourav Ganguly said at an event.

After completing his stint with the Indian army, Dhoni was expected to make a comeback for the home series but that didn’t happen. Since India do not play any ODI till the month of December, he is not expected to play any match till then.
Dhoni might be on a break from the game; he has the backing of the team management as recently Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri spoke about Dhoni and backed him going ahead.
A few days back, there were rumours that Dhoni might retire from the game after Kohli shared a photo with him on social media but there was no truth to it.
For now, it is confirmed that Dhoni will be leading Chennai Super Kings in next year’s IPL, as confirmed by N Srinivasan. He is expected to play the game till then but as far as international cricket is concerned, there is nothing confirmed yet.
Rishabh Pant is still struggling to do the dual role in white-ball cricket but has enough time to settle in the absence of MS Dhoni.
