Manoj Tiwary Denies His Aggressive Comments On MS Dhoni
Recently, the Bengal Ranji team captain Manoj Tiwary has given his view about MS Dhoni‘s retirement speculation. According to that interview, Tiwary claimed, “the Indian team isn’t anyone’s personal property”. Now, he has clarified that he was misquoted.
Since the conclusion of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, the media has highly speculated on the former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s retirement. Dhoni has missed out the entire ongoing Caribbean tour due to his commitment to serve the Indian army.
However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already clarified that Dhoni is currently on two months leave. After that, he will serve the national team.
Recently, in an interview to the Bengali edition of the Indian Express, Manoj Tiwary has spoken about MS Dhoni’s retirement speculation. According to that interview, Tiwary felt that the selectors needed to take a tough call on Dhoni’s career. He also added that the Indian team wasn’t anyone’s personal property.
As per that published interview, Tiwary told, “Dhoni has done a lot for our country. He has made a lot of contributions to this team. Recently, Sachin Tendulkar said that it’s time for Dhoni to side-line himself, he has played a lot. Though Virat Kohli has said that the team needs Dhoni, I feel that the selectors need to take a tough call. It’s time to show courage, and it’s necessary to take the step.
“I’m not sure if the selectors are giving Dhoni chances based on the past. There are a number of talented cricketers in our country, and they should get chances. The Indian team isn’t anyone’s personal property. It’s a team of the nation, and that needs to be kept in mind.”
