The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the latest Test players’ rankings on Sunday (17th November). Indian in-form pacer Mohammed Shami has climbed up the top ten positions and earned his new best position in the Test bowling rankings. Mayank Agarwal is another Indian who has also achieved his best-ever Test batting rankings after his superb batting performance in the recent Test match.
ICC Test bowling rankings – Mohammed Shami is in the seventh position
The top six positions of the Test bowling rankings are unchanged as the Australian pacer Pat Cummins is leading this table. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is staying in the fourth position in the Test bowling rankings while Mohammed Shami has climbed up eight positions. Shami is now standing in the seventh position in Test bowling rankings with 790 rating points – best ranking in Mohammed Shami’s Test career.
In the recently concluded Indore Test between India and Bangladesh, Mohammed Shami took a total of seven wickets.
Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has maintained his no.10 position in the Test bowling rankings.
Other Indian pacers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav both have climbed up one position as they are standing now 20th and 22nd positions respectively.
Bangladesh pacer Abu Jayed took four wickets during the Indore Test. He has climbed 18 positions as he is standing now the 62nd position in the Test bowling rankings.
ICC Test batting rankings – Mayank Agarwal is in the 11th position
There is no movement in the top 10 positions in the Test batting rankings. While the Australian cricketer Steven Smith is leading this table, Indian captain Virat Kohli is in the second position. Also, the Indian batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara (4th), Ajinkya Rahane (5th) and Rohit Sharma (10th) have maintained their top 10 positions in the Test batting rankings.
Mayank Agarwal smashed his second Test double-century during the Indore Test. The Indian right-handed Test opener climbed up seven positions as he has earned his best-ever Test batting rankings – 11th position. Ravindra Jadeja has also climbed up four positions and he is standing in the 35th position in ICC Test batting rankings.
Among the Bangladesh batsmen, Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das have climbed up to the Test batting rankings. In both the Bangladesh innings, Rahim (43 and 64) scored the highest runs for his team and has climbed up to the 30th spot in Test batting rankings (+5). Also, the wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das has taken the 86th position in the Test batting rankings (+6) after scoring 21 and 35 runs respectively in Indore Test.
In the Test all-rounder rankings, Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has moved up one spot and has taken up the fourth position.
